[TAS2022] KEF Blade Meta speakers, breaking through the boundaries of high-fidelity sound effects

Welcome to V2 KEF, 7th Floor, Shanghai International Convention Center
Blade One Meta Presentation

February 2022, KEF launched the new Blade Meta speaker, adding another masterpiece to its groundbreaking speaker series. The Blade series demonstrates how KEF innovates and designs to create accurate, realistic sound with acoustic performance in mind. KEF is known for its excellent sound quality and is committed to providing an extraordinary listening experience. Blade aims to continuously improve breakthrough concepts and bring enjoyment to people through excellent listening experiences. The new Blade floor speakers incorporate several developments, including metamaterial sound absorption technology (MAT™), all of which are critical to the outstanding performance of the Blade.

Blade is the ideal choice for users who are tasteful, want audio experience and dare to push the boundaries. First of all, the sound is extraordinary and the quality is outstanding. If you listen to it yourself, you will know that it is true. The new Blade shows a spirit of adventure and is perfect for users who want to make a difference. These speakers are like fever-grade works of art, standing tall in their home.
state-of-the-art technology and the ability to innovate without any bias and restrictions are strengths that KEF is proud. KEF has always adhered to this concept, entrusting engineers to play freely and do their best to create the best KEF products. Therefore, Concept Blade came into being in 2009. In 2011, the product was further improved and developed to become a high-fidelity speaker worthy of audiophiles. In 2022, with the development of technology, more accurate sound images and highly accurate sound effects will be realized in a wider range of fields. As a result, the Blade delivers consistent and consistent performance at all audible frequencies, allowing you to hear more precise and immersive sounds.

Design
Blade's sculptural beauty stems from its acoustic features. The front radius of the soft line slowly shrinks from top to bottom and from front to back, presenting a continuous and uninterrupted surface without affecting sound clarity. The acoustically inert enclosure uses a complex parabolic curve that has been carefully designed to eliminate standing waves and avoid the formation of vibrato.
In order to highlight the precision technology carried inside, we cleverly mixed 5 kinds of cabinet panels and 6 kinds of drive unit cone colors to create 8 kinds of exquisite panels for these speakers. If you still can't meet your requirements, customers can also provide their own Pantone colors and customize their own speaker cabinet color scheme to create a truly different Blade.

Technology
Blade is an attitude. It aims to explore the possibilities of art. Therefore, the new Blade speakers are equipped with KEF's many innovative acoustic technologies, including metamaterial sound absorption technology (MAT), customized 12th generation Uni-Q® coaxial common point unit and a large number of other technical improvements.
MAT is a truly revolutionary tool in KEF's acoustic technology portfolio, because each intricate channel can effectively absorb 99% of unwanted sound, thereby eliminating distortion and presenting a purer and more natural acoustic performance.
MAT opens up a whole new dimension in loudspeaker design and once again proves KEF's relentless passion for developing new technologies to enhance the listening experience. Metamaterials are built from existing materials and specially developed structures that can exhibit entirely new properties not found in natural materials.
KEF combines Uni-Q and MAT for Blade speakers. The custom drive unit makes KEF's flagship speaker sound great. Regardless of the volume, the advanced Uni-Q drive unit array can always present a sweet, clear, unrestrained treble. The new ultra-low distortion midrange motor design improves efficiency by reducing total harmonic distortion (THD) and thermal compression in the midrange.
Blade is the global common point sound source technology. Global common point sound source technology extends the Uni-Q coaxial common point drive unit array, an integral part of KEF's iconic sound quality. The technology aims to achieve the ideal sound effect of a single point sound source. The so-called single point sound source refers to low, medium and high frequency radiation from the same point.
this way, the Blade delivers consistent and consistent performance across all audible frequencies, allowing you to hear more realistic, immersive sounds.

revolutionary sound effects
Blade is equipped with 4 powerful low-frequency drive units, integrated with Uni-Q and MAT, to present clean, clear, distant and precise bass. The decoupling of the diaphragm and the voice coil in order to use a low-order frequency divider to obtain a purer and more delicate bass response is in line with Blade's initial concept of pursuing pure sound quality. These drive units are installed back-to-back to avoid vibrating the box when playing loudly, thereby offsetting kinetic energy that may interfere with the output. Each pair of drive units occupies a separate cavity to reduce the need for damping.

Blade speakers have an enhanced crossover design that can fine-tune the signal path for improved clarity. In addition, two pairs of fever-grade WBT connectors can meet the needs of two-wire wiring and double amplification to achieve lossless transmission.
Blade has always adhered to the concept of pursuing precision and realistic sound quality with technological innovation, aiming to continuously improve breakthrough concepts and bring people pleasure and enjoyment through excellent listening experience.
